A Unique Olfactory Treasure

A partnership with Robertet and
Rachidi Arômes

In the heart of the sun-drenched heights of the Middle Atlas Mountains, amidst Morocco’s unspoilt landscapes, the Centifolia rose flourishes, a prized variety renowned for the exceptional beauty of its fragrance. It is also known as the ‘hundred-petalled rose’ or ‘May rose’, in reference to its spring harvest, which runs from April to May.

This iconic flower reveals a divine and refined scent. Comparable to the Centifolia rose of Grasse in its finesse and elegance, it is distinguished by a unique olfactory signature, linked to the terroirs of Morocco: a soft, sweet fragrance with subtly spicy and honeyed notes, prized by the world’s greatest perfumers.

A responsible partnership

A Floral Alliance: Where tradition meets expertise
A sustainable and fair approach

Certified Fair For Life (ECOCERT) and Organic NOP, these labels guarantee consumers products sourced from sustainable supply chains that respect both people and nature.

This programme has been developed in partnership with the perfume house Robertet and Rachidi Arômes, a local producer whose crops cover nearly 20 hectares, yielding an annual harvest of 25 tonnes of flowers.

Founded in 1996 in Kenitra (Morocco), Rachidi Aromes is a pioneering company in the field of distillation. Since its inception, it has distinguished itself through its commitment to quality and sustainability, having obtained prestigious certifications such as Fair For Life (from ECOCERT) since 2021 and Bio NOP since 1996.

Thanks to its numerous plantations and its industrial site located in the heart of the country, the company controls every stage of production, from growing the plants to the final distillation. This control over the production chain guarantees exceptional products that are environmentally friendly and comply with the strictest international standards.

The harvest

harvest

The harvesting of the Centifolia rose is a crucial period lasting around 40 days, between April and May. As part of an initiative to recognise the value of women’s work, this delicate task is carried out exclusively by women. From the first light of dawn, the pickers set to work in the fields, picking the flowers by hand as the sun rises.

Expertise

This unique expertise enables Rachidi Aromes to process 25 tonnes of flowers every year.

The partnership between Robertet and Rachidi Aromes embodies a perfect synergy between tradition and innovation. It highlights the importance of upholding artisanal methods whilst meeting the quality standards of international markets.

Growing the Centifolia Rose

Our response to two major challenges

Optimising the irrigation system

Precise water management, with water delivered in a controlled manner directly to the roots, is essential for maintaining the health of rose bushes.

This helps to conserve water resources and improve plant health.

Energy Management

It is necessary to upgrade existing installations by expanding and replacing solar panels in order to better meet energy needs.

This helps to protect natural resources and reduce energy costs in the long term.

Improvements to the Drip Irrigation System
Improvements to the Drip Irrigation System

Drip irrigation is a state-of-the-art solution for optimising water use in rose cultivation.
This system enables precise and consistent water delivery directly to the roots
of the plants, thereby reducing losses through evaporation and runoff. This approach not
only conserves water resources but also improves plant health and vigour, ensuring
abundant, high-quality flower production.
The expected reduction in water consumption can be estimated at 30%.

Energy management
Expansion and Renewal of Solar Panel Installations
Expansion and Renewal of Solar Panel Installations

To increase irrigation capacity whilst adhering to the principles of sustainability, the expansion and
renewal of existing solar panel installations are essential. Solar panels, by
capturing the abundant energy of the Moroccan sun, provide a clean, renewable source of energy to
power irrigation and pumping systems simultaneously. This initiative would not only contribute to
the protection of natural resources, but also to the reduction of energy costs in the long term.
Solar-generated electricity could cover approximately 80–85% of the site’s energy requirements.
